Jolly Rancher Cocktail

 
While searching for a new yummy drink to bring to a friend’s party I stumbled across two great recipe’s for a Jolly Rancher Cocktail!  And since Jolly Ranchers are a HUGE seller for us I had to try it out!!  They were delicious!  A bit sweet, but they were festive, fun and different!  And best of all they tasted like Jolly Ranchers!  Try them out for a holiday party or just to add a little something extra to you Friday night!   Enjoy!

Jolly Rancher Cocktail

1 1/2 oz melon liqueur
1/2 oz blueberry schnapps
sweet and sour mix
1/2 oz grenadine syrup
1 cherry

Shake melon liqueur and blueberry schnapps with ice and strain into an old-fashioned glass over ice cubes. Fill with sweet and sour, add grenadine for color, and stir. Add cherry on top and serve!

 

Jolly Rancher Cocktail #2

1 shot DeKuyper® Apple Barrel schnapps
1 shot DeKuyper® Peachtree schnapps
1 cup cranberry juice

Mix and serve chilled in an old-fashioned glass.

Sugar Free Jolly Ranchers?!

Calling all diabetics! Calling all weight loss centers! YOO HOO! We have a new product in the house- SUGAR FREE JOLLY RANCHERS are here!

Ok- but this is kinda funny, remember i am here to talk the truth about candy- not to pull the wool over your eyes. The Sugar Free Jolly Ranchers have the exact same amount of carbohydrate as the regular Jolly Ranchers per serving. Now granted the serving size differs by 1 piece and the calories are cut in 1/2, but sugar free does NOT mean carbohydrate OR calorie free. That is an important point that consumers need to be aware of before making a choice to purchase one of the two. The idea behind the sugar free products is that the sugar is replaced with sugar alcohols which are slowly metabolized carbohydrates and only cause a small rise in blood sugar levels.

Packaged as 12- 3.6oz bags in a 3lbs case providing 288 pieces, the Sugar Free Jolly Ranchers come in the following flavors: watermelon, grape, apple, and raspberry.

Ingredients include: Isomalt, polyglucitol syrup, and 2% or less of the following: malic acid, natural and artifical flavor, acesulfame potassium, artificial color (Red 40, Blue 1, Yellow 5 & 6).

Allergy Concerns are that this product is manufactured on the same equipment that processes milk, and those who are sensitive to sugar substitutes may experience a laxative effect.

Bulk Happy Cowboys! Er, Uh- Jolly Ranchers!

  Did you know that the name "Jolly Rancher" was used to suggest Western hospitality? The Jolly Rancher Company originated in Golden, Colorado where they served chocolates and soft serve ice cream, and of course candy. They moved the company to Wheat Ridge, Colorado to increase production of their candy line that was in high demand.  In 1996 Jolly Rancher Candy was taken over by Hershey.

This assorted fruit flavored hard candy has been around for years, but its quality and powerful flavor haven't changed a bit. Although I think blue raspberry is a newer flavor......

Ingredients for Jolly Ranchers include: corn syrup, sugar, and 2% or less of the following- malic acid, natural and artificial flavor, artificial color (Red 40, Blue 1, Yellow 5, and Yellow 6)

Jolly Ranchers are NOT Kosher- bummer.

So let's think about this for a second. Jolly Rancher translates to a "Happy Cowboy". Perhaps the manager/owner of a Cowboy Bar, or a Taste of Texas Restaurant, or any bank out of the Southwest should be ordering some Jolly Rancher Candy to provide a "thank you" to all the "Happy Cowboys" who patron their business!
